This year's event will be held from September 13 to 23 with Ahmed Tubasi, artistic director of the Freedom Theater in Jenin, northern Palestine, as a guest artist. As a related project, a workshop to create a play with local high school students will be held online, and a performance will be held on September 14 to present the results.
There will also be many exchange events connecting countries online during the festival, so please feel free to come and join us.

To the Mysterious World of Myanmar Music National Tour 2024 / Fukuoka
Myanmar music is the most distant from Western music. Myanmar music is a little-known genre in Japan, but its uniquely evolved style is both strange and beautiful. Until now, when Myanmar music has been introduced in Japan, it has mostly been in the context of world music, but that is too much of a shame. Its uniqueness can be found in free jazz/progressive/contemporary music/dub.
Murakami Kyoki, who has been conducting field research since 2016, will introduce its history and appeal by playing records, cassettes, CDs, and videos. In particular, there will be a first report on the results of his field research (noise scene and record digging) conducted in December 2023.
Please enjoy the impact of Myanmar, an unknown super music country.
