Che CHEN
Che Chen is a sound and graphic artist based in Brooklyn and Stonybrook, New York. As a solo performer, Che uses stringed, wind, reed and percussion instruments, reel to reel tape machines, oscillators and other musical and "non-musical" objects in works that explore his interests in perceptual phenomena and global folk music traditions.
Che also plays in a duo with multi-instrumentalist, Robbie Lee, in Jozef Van Wissem's Heresy of the Free Spirit a trio that plays arrangements of Van Wissem's lute pieces as well as free improvisations and in True Primes, his duo with singer/percussionist, Rolyn Hu. As an anthologist, he has produced the private press artists' magazine, O Sirhan, O Sirhan, a publication inspired by Wallace Berman's Semina, Aspen Journal and the Fluxus design work of George Maciunas, and Attention Patterns, a 2 LP + booklet set featuring Pauline Oliveros, Eliane Radigue, Yoshi Wada and Sun Circle.
Che has shared bills with Sir Richard Bishop, Paul Metzger, Susan Alcorn, Jozef Van Wissem, Mountains, Maria Chavez, Elodie Lauten, Mouthus, Sightings, R.Keenan Lawler, Brian Chase (Yeah Yeah Yeahs), Mike Wexler, Daniel Carter, and Jeff Shurdut, among others.

MUKAI Chie [er-hu,voice,dance]
Born in Osaka, Japan.
1975: MUKAI Chie studied music under KOSUGI Takehisa Music Workshop at BI-GAKKO (alesthetic school) in Tokyo.
She started to play kokyu (er-hu) and made performances with various improvised music such as "East Bionic Symphonia" and "STEREOS".
1981: She started her own unit "Ché-SHIZU".
1983: Ché-SHIZU began to play collective improvisation unit "dadunr", "ENKIDU" and works with Butoh dancers / performance artists.
1998: She started to organized the mixed media art festival "PERSPECTIVE EMOTION", and holds the workshop in Japan and Europe.
